When I was looking at other people's blogs, I saw Mug Rugs. At first I had no idea what that was till I saw the picture. Well, these mug rugs looked very practical to me. When I am sewing, or working on my laptop, my coffee cup leaves marks everywhere! So I decided to make a few. Also because I think they are lovely little presents. You can buy a mug from 1 euro to lots of euros. I went shopping and bought some cheap ones and some expensive ones.
Two very good friends of mine have their birthdays this month. As a matter of fact one of them has it today. This is the one she will get.
I loved the cup with the bags (I have something with bags!) and it has a very sweet box.
Because I love my garden so much, I also always try to make pictures from my garden to go with the patchwork. You can't really see this, but outside there is a big Jasmine which smells lovely.
My other girlfriend got her mug and rug already. She was very pleased with the present. I can imagine my two friend sitting in my garden, sipping their tea, because that's what they drink. One of them is British and the other one also loves tea. So, as a matter of fact, they got tea rugs.
This one is a bit bigger, because after I made the first one I decided to look on the internet to find out which sizes people use to make them.
The grey/pink fabric was once used for a duvet cover. The other materials are vintage, at least 30 years old. I bought them in this old shop in Kalamata.
