This is my vegetable garden, which is doing quite well, considering the heat. I have tomatoes, okra, cucumbers, beetroots, carrots, eggplant, bell peppers. String beans, just the plants, no beans, it's too hot for them to come out, so I water and patiently wait till the weather gets cooler. Maybe we can eat some nice organic beans in the fall. Then there are the zucchinis, which are doing very well. Seem to love the heat.
I've put a lot of different basil plants between the veggies. That seems to enhance them. I also dry the coffee in the filters, after I drank the whole pot, and scatter that in between the plants. The smell is supposed to keep insects and worms away. I don't know whether it works, but, as I drink a lot of coffee, I might well try this. The herbs in my garden are doing very well. I have parsley, celery, sage, chives, laurel, rosemary and thyme, which has this lovely little flowers.
Time to go and dig out some carrots for the salad I'm going to make for lunch!
