When I was a kid, my family spend all their holidays in Koudekerke, in a wooden summer house just behind the dike, that belonged to one of my father's brothers. My father was born and raised in Vlissingen and he loved the area. The boterbabbelaars are a nostalgic sweet for me, because we used to eat a lot of those during these vacations.
The reason for the competition was the book "The Devil's puzzle" by Clare O'Donohue who writes quilt mysteries. This book is circulating in the quilters world, travelling from one quilter to another.. When I finish the book, I will organize a competition, so that the book will find its way to someone else.
For now, I wish you a good weekend. Lots of Greeks will have a very good weekend, because it is Carnaval here. And then on Monday (which is a public holiday) the fastening period starts with all special kind of foods. Custom is also to fly kites on this Καθαρή Δευτέρα (Clean Monday), so I hope the weather will be nice. Unfortunately the forecast says....rain! But forecasts are wrong lots of time anyway, so we keep hour hopes up!
